You are looking at the XML or source format of the .SVG.
I am not sure whether you need any add-on to be enabled in the Browser in order to view it.
IE8 on VISTAseems to work fine, without any add-on visibly related to the SVG format on my PC.
When I use 'OPEN' it shows the diagram. When I use 'EDIT' it shows the source format in text.

With IE8, when the mouse is placed on the SVG diagram, the right click will provide a pop up to zoom in and out.
Holding down the alt-key would change the curror to a hand and enter the 'pan' mode. Thd diagram will then follow the mouse movement.

The .SVG file that is created as a part of E+ outputs gives the schematic of the HVAC system. Internet Explorer which is the default viewer is not good at showing the details as it does not allow zoom. I recommend that you try Inkscape (google and download) for viewing the files. I think you will be pleasantly surprised at the amount of information that you can get out these files.
Haider Khan.ICF International.Great schematic! I always do the same when I am modeling with E+. Has anyone ever compiled schematics for all of the example files? It would be EXTREMELY helpful in understanding how the systems are set up if schematics were included with the example files. If there is no one on the E+ team that can do this, it could be crowed-sourced and done in a very short time. Does anyone else think that HVAC system schematics for the example files would save a lot of time?-Eddie

It?s very possible! I?m completing a model which uses the Heat Exchanger in the configuration shown on the schematic, and it is working well. My particular model does not use 100% OA, but I think all you?ll need to do is set up the Controller:OutdoorA ir object to have a minimum fraction which is always = 1 (something like what I?ve shown below).
p.s., The example files are helpful, but you have to wade through all of the node names to figure out what?s connected to what. I always make a schematic to help keep them straight.
