You can certainly get information about how the window is performing
from those reports. But SHGC concept also includes the inward flowing
fraction of absorbed solar energy, so you would also want to monitor convection
heat transfer from the window to the zone air -- for example, “Window
Convection Heat Gain from Glazing to Zone” or “Surface Int Convection
Heat Rate per Area” My understanding is that “SHGC”, as a rating metric,
is defined under a prescribed set of environmental conditions. The widely
varying sun angles and temperatures during a simulation don’t fit with that
definition. A time varying report for SHGC would be interesting but would
also be confusing because of its use in product rating where single-valued
metric is expected. From:
