The ; ends the block so you are not adding anything to the group.
Use , except at the last line. Also comments start with ! so the text after
and between names is not recognized. It looks like you copied test from the definition
and not an example input,

Hello, I am trying to add three rows on
EnergyManagementSystem:ProgramCallingManager. I opened the v5.0.0EnergyPlus.idd
in a notepad, then I added three rows as following:
A5 ; \field Program Name 3
\type alpha
\note no spaces allowed in name
\object-list ErlProgramNames
A6 ; \field Program Name 4
\type alpha
\note no spaces allowed in name
\object-list ErlProgramNames
A7 ; \field Program Name 5
\type alpha
\note no spaces allowed in name
\object-list ErlProgramNames
A8 ; \field Program Name 6
\type alpha
\note no spaces allowed in name
\object-list ErlProgramNames
where, A6, A7 and A8 are exactly copying the row of A5. Then I saved the idd
file and opened the IDF file, still no new rows are shown up. Is there anything
that I still need to do to add the three rows?
I even have restarted my computer, but the three rows are still not there.
