It is possible then to have an overhang or a shading feature with distinct solar and visible transmittance in future releases of EnergyPlus?   Say, place this in the feature request list….  We have had several building projects with tinted glass shading fins and I am very interested to know its effect on reducing solar heat gain and auto-daylighting.

Overhangs are not designated for any material.

I would guess you would use the transmittence property schedule for overhangs of this nature. But it won't differentiate the solar from the light.
