RE: [EnergyPlus_Support] microCHP

thank you for your answer.

My idf is based on that example file.
you mean that the chp needs to be conected to the grid in order to produce thermal power?

There is an example file called MicroCogeneration.idf.

The CHP unit needs to be part of an ElectricLoadCenter.

Subject: [EnergyPlus_Support] microCHP

Hi to everyone.

I am using a Generator micro CHP as a replacement of a boiler for a domestic heat.

firstly I create an idf model for a house with baseboard heating radiators feed up from a boiler. The model run successfully and i get very realistic results.

The next step was to replace the boiler unit with a micro CHP in order to make a comparison.

The simulation run again successfully but when i try to obtain results as the gas consumption of the CHP unit the results was simple zero. meaning that the unit dose not work.

I used the drawing tool which shown that the only change was just the replacement of the boiler to a chp.

Has any of you use the CHP model for domestic use cause i don't know what to check.

Thanks
