Re: [EnergyPlus_Support] Design Day

The main use of Design Day simulation is to automatically estimate the capacity of
the HVAC equipment being modeled. For this calculation special design day weather and
schedules can be used. Look at SizingPeriod and Design Objects in the Input-Output Reference
available from the Help button in EP Launch.

If you already know all of your simulation model's capacities and design flow rates, you don't
need design day simulation. You can leave out the SizingPeriod inputs and in  SimulationControl
put No for all the sizing calculations.

Hello,

I am trying to use EnergyPlus to get yearly Energy Consumption of a building. I did it without design day simulation and was successful. Can anybody tell me what Design Day simulation does exactly and how can it help me in yearly energy calculations and if I dont want to use it then which objects should i disable.

 Thank You
Sincerely
Rohit
