It is a documentation problem. The negative switch was never implemented. I suspect this was a feature in the original TRNSYS implementation that the developer did not end up actually implementing in the EnergyPlus version of the model. Only positive numbers are allowed and the feature indicated by the negative switch does not really exist. Thanks for pointing this out, we’ll get the documentation fixed.
