RE: [EnergyPlus_Support] Re: Help with Simulation

I do not know whether you have got the answer to your problem.

Assuming the origin is  0,0,0, and you are stending inside the zone.

(0,1.5,0.35)       !- bottom  left corner
(0,1.5,2.35)       !-  top  left corner
(0,4.5,2.35)       !-  top right corner
(0,4.5,0.35)      !-  bottom rigt corner

The vector is facing West.  The wall at x=0 is the West wall.

Your .bmp entry say, it is on the East wall, the building surface name.

Therefore, the window is on the wrong wall.

The  DXF would place the window in the surface position, and ignor the vector direction.

The error message will give you a severe error, but the simulation may still provide you will some results.

It you turn on the diagnostics

Output:Diagnostics,
    DisplayAllWarnings,      !- Key 1
    DisplayExtraWarnings;    !- Key 2

You may get more detailed error messages pointing to the vector direction error or surface placement error.

Hi Niraj

Yes i did, i attached a file with the picture, have a look.

The simulation is still having troubles, and i dont have any idea what may be hapennig

Thanks a lot

Yes I did..but there are another set of co-ordinates for the window on the other side of the building. Did you enter those as well..because once I entered both the windows in the IDF editor and ran the simulation it worked fine for me. What do you think?

Even i saw the DXF file and the windows ubication is correct.

Did you run the same simulation, and did it works succesfull?

Thankas a lot

Did you add in the coordinates of the window? Because I am also learning and had the same problem..you need to scroll down the "Getting Started with Eplus" document where you can find the co-ordinates of the windows for exercise 1 and then add those co-ordinates in the IDF editor. Once you do that, run the simulation and it should work. Please let me know what happens after that, since I am also learning EnergyPlus and would like to hear your comments on it.

Sincerely yours'
Niraj
