Energy Input Ratio --- the ratio of the energy input to the device
(e.g., chiller) divided by the cooling output of the device.
The EnergyPlus documentation is "searchable".
In the \Documentation folder, open the file named EplusMainMenu.pdf
Then select "Press to Search Documents". Search for
"Chiller:Electric:EIR".... it will show you all of the occurrences of
this word in all EnergyPlus documents. Suggest you review the search
results that are located in the EnergyPlus Engineering Documentation.
