The Input-Output Reference (pp.1373-1377) describes 3 different ways to connect a solar collector component to a plant loop trough different water heaters and storage tanks configurations.
In my current case-study I similarly have to connect the 2 (water) loops but the heat transfer should happen trough a different component.
The solar collector loop is in fact connected to the main plant loop trough a plate heat exchanger (not a water tank or a water heater).
Is it possible to model in Energy Plus a solar collector connection to a plant loop without an intermediary water tank or water heater (using a plate heat exchanger)?
Should I use a "HeatExchanger:Plate" component (in the i/o reference it is described as intended to couple two condenser loops and not two plant loops)?
Are there any IDF examples with similar components/connection?
