Re: [EnergyPlus_Support] Severe error: MAT setpoint

Pedro:

The ideal loads air system assumes an entering supply air temperature of 13C. Thus you can't
cool a zone below 13C with this template. There's no provision in the template for changing
this temperature. However in the full idf input for this system (which is pretty simple) you can
change the supply temperature. You can look for the "expidf" file produced by the template
preprocessor, change the supply temperature, change the file extension to "idf" and run that.
Click on "Help" in EPLaunch and look at "HVAC Template Processing" if these comments are
confusing.

hello all.

Lately i've been using IdealLoadsAirSystem template to quickly control a zone temperature. I have a temperature profile i want to keep, and from there i create a heating and cooling schedule with a dT of 0.5 degrees from the temp profile. And its been working well up till today, when i got this unexpected severe error:

** Severe ** InitPurchasedAir: For ZoneHVAC:IdealLoadsAirSystem = ZMZONEHVAC:IDEALLOADSAIRSYSTEM serving Zone ZM
** ~~~ ** ..the supply air temperature for cooling [13.00] is greater than the zone cooling mean air temperature (MAT) setpoint [12.90].
** ~~~ ** ..For operative and comfort thermostat controls, the MAT setpoint is computed.
** ~~~ ** ..This error may indicate that the mean radiant temperature or another comfort factor is too warm.
** ~~~ ** Environment=FLUXO_EXT_BOTTOM, at Simulation time=04/24 03:10 - 03:20

I havent done anything diferently other than using a diferent temperature profile, and i'm not understading where the 13ºC limitation might come from. HVAC related, only have the two schedules for cooling/heating and one IdealLoadsAirSystem for the zone in question. any help in figuring this one out is very welcome, thank you.

Pedro
