[EnergyPlus_Support] Heat Pump Water Heater with Stratified Tank?

Does anyone know if it is possible to model a Heat Pump Water Heater
with a stratified water heater tank?

The Input-Output Reference says that WaterHeater:HeatPump is a "compound
object that uses the WaterHeater:Mixed as part of its strategy" (p749),
which suggests that WaterHeater:Mixed is integral to the
WaterHeater:HeatPump compound object.

However, the documentation of the WaterHeater:HeatPump object says: "The
heat pump water heater (HPWH) is a compound object consisting of a water
heater tank (e.g., WaterHeater:Mixed)" which seems to imply that
WaterHeater:Mixed is only one option and that other water heater tank
models (e.g. WaterHeater:Stratified) could be used.

It seems like it might be possible to hook up the WaterHeater:HeatPump
and WaterHeater:Stratified nodes, or possibly make the mixed tank a
dummy tank that feeds into the stratified tank. Any ideas?
