[EnergyPlus_Support] ZoneMixing and ZoneVentilation

Hi,

Can anyone explain to me the relationship between the ZoneVentilationDesignFlowRate "Ventilation Type" field and the ZoneMixing object?

I have a building where air is supplied to perimeter zones and exhausted through core zones.  Does this mean that for the perimeter zones I specify the ventilation type as "intake" and for the core zones as "exhaust", and then create a zone mixing object between them?

I am a bit confused as the I/O reference states (under ZoneVentilationDesignFlowRate, Ventilation Type):

"For Natural and Exhaust ventilation, the conditions of the air entering the space are assumed to be equivalent to outside air conditions. For Intake and Balanced ventilation, an appropriate amount of fan heat is added to the entering air stream."

In my building, the ventilation is balanced, just between more than one zone.

Thanks,

Karen
