[EnergyPlus_Support] using IRTMaterial

Folks,

I need help on how to use IRTMaterial, the infrared material. I
basically have a naturally ventilated space with an opening - not a
window, just an opening where the airflows. The best to model this type
of surface is to define the infrared material, where (a) there is no
surface convection (at least can be minimised) and (b) the surface will
let the solar radiation into the zone.

However, I have encountered the following problem(s):

(a) If I define a opaque surface using this material, the simulation
runs without any error. However, I cannot report how much of solar
radiation comes into the zone, or how much solar radiation falls on
inside surfaces. Obviously this is because those solar variables are
associated with windows, and since I do not have any window

(b) If I define a window using this material -- so that I can report the
solar variables -- EPlus will complain because the IRT material is not
transparent, as required by a window.

(c) If I define the opening as a door, the simulation runs without any
error, but then again I cannot report any solar variables.

So I am stuck.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Ery
