You may be referring to the zooming of the whole page on the display.
This is now standard on the MS Windows as well. What I was using is a maginifier (a small view area) that has a image that follows the mouse pointer or the text cursor. It only enlarge a small area on the screen, so that the overall picture is still in view.
The Windows IE9 browser can open the SVG diagram without the svg plug-in on my VISTA PC.
The PC running Window7 with IE8 opens the source and displayed it using Windows Office. The blocks are displayed vertically with a number next to it. There are other view (browse) options, and I have not tried all of them yet.

In the opera browser you have a magnifier located in the bottom right hand corner of the window. You can magnify the HVAC diagram up to 300%.
