RE: [EnergyPlus_Support] Rotating house

As a quick idea, could you just use note pad to do a find and replace of a line of code to change your orientation? If you were using a unix operating system, there is are Perl scripts out there that could do it for you automatically.

Then I guess my method won't work.

You might be stuck with running a batch of simulations with rotations in some increment (say 5 degrees) and then selectively post processing the hourly results via excel.

But the shadowing calculations can only be updated every 24 hours at a minimum.

I suggest trying a Compliance:Building object (this will set the rotation) with a variable in combination with an EMS routine that resets the rotation on an hourly basis.

Dear E+ users,

I kindly ask you some suggestions regarding the following issue:
I want to simulate a rotating house. The house rotates 360º during 24 hours. What is the most suitable way to simulate the house during one year?

Thank you in advance.
