Caution: I?m not a ?Weather file wizard?; double check this!
Assuming that you are using a TMY data file, I think E+ calculates the available radiation based on latitude and time of year, which means it?s completely generic. I think that is perfectly acceptable.
The ?wild card? is the cloud cover, which is taken from the weather file, varies from year to year, and is not very precise.
