Look in the Energy+.idd file for the object in question. You will see the same notes shown in the idf editor. You can add any notes you like. Open the idd file (in the C:\EnergyPlusV6-0-0-037 directory or where ever you installed E+) and scroll down to the SimulationControl object. Then open your idf using the text editor and also scroll down to the SimulationControl object. Now go back to the idf editor. The are 2 boxes in the idf editor. 1) Comments from IDF and, 2) Explanation of Keyword The comments are: any "! this is a comment" (lines using the exclamation mark) above the field that is highlighted The Explanation of Keywords are: The memo fields always show up when you click an object or any fields for that object The notes show up below any memo text when you click on each field within an object. Switch between the idd, input file, and idf editor to see how these fields work. Example for the SimulationControl object: SimulationControl, \unique-object \memo Note that the following 3 fields are related to the Sizing:Zone, Sizing:System, \memo and Sizing:Plant objects. Having these fields set to Yes but no corresponding \memo Sizing object will not cause the sizing to be done. However, having any of these \memo fields set to No, the corresponding Sizing object is ignored. \memo Note also, if you want to do system sizing, you must also do zone sizing in the same \memo run or an error will result. A1, \field Do Zone Sizing Calculation \note If Yes, Zone sizing is accomplished from corresponding Sizing:Zone objects \note and autosize fields. \type choice \key Yes \key No \default No On 8/10/2011 5:41 AM, malindow wrote:
