Dear All,
I am trying to model building-integrated photovoltaic on the facade and fenestration of a simple building in EnergyPlus and I have several questions. 1) The equivalentone-diode model allows the user to specify the methods of determining cell temperature data. From the EnergyPlus engineering reference, it states that "Integrated Surface Outside Face" is used, the temperature result from EnergyPlus modeling of surfaces is used for the cell temperature. May I know does EnergyPlus take into consideration that the surface that the PV is attached to is partially blocked from direct irridiance as well? Meaning that, if EnergyPlus takes the temperature as if the PV wasnt attached and used it for the PV cell temperature, wouldnt the cell temperature be too high because the attached PV will shade the surface from direct sunlight? 2) Are there any ways that semi-transparent BIPV can be simulated in EnergyPlus in the form of roof glass or PV windows? Thanks for your help.
