Hi Fernando,
I'd be happy to answer your questions and since you've asked them on this forum I'll answer them here though I suggest that future communications that are DesignBuilder-specific are done either on the DesignBuilder forum or privately.
Yes DesignBuilder can model mechanical ventilation with heat recovery. I'd recommend using the DesignBuilder Detailed HVAC for this which has a good range of options relevant to domestic and non-domestic buildings.
Most users find getting started with DesignBuilder quick and easy. There are free help and training manuals as well as free online tutorial videos to take you through the basic steps in setting up models. Given that you are already familiar with EnergyPlus and OpenStudio you should find this quite straightforward.
You can export an IDF file from DB but you can't import IDF data at the moment.
It is very easy to generate Radiance data - literally a click of the button. All geometry and material reflectance and transmission data is already entered for EnergyPlus.
You can get a 90% discount as a student or if your university has a site license you get a free student license.
Regards,
Andy

Hi Andy,
I would like to ask you a few questions about designbuilder and we would be very grateful if you could answer them.
I need to model a passivhaus, the house has a mechanical ventilation with a heat recovery, is it possible to simulate this using designbuilder?
I have often use energyplus and openstudio, how difficult is to get started with program? is any free manual available? I need to hand in my msc dessirtation by December
Is it possible to open the file directly in energy plus (ep-launch) and then open again in designbuilder?
How difficult is to create a radiances file, is all the information in model transfer to the radiance model too? (Material properties)
Is the program available to students to low price?
Thanks
Kind regards
Fernando

DB v3 only provides illuminance output on a working plane so you might need to post-process the results yourself to calculate light-re-reflection out through windows.

Have anyone a suggestion? I have try to use open studio plug-in 0.4.0 to create the internal furniture and then convert the model in a radiances model but i am not finding very complicate to do that any suggestions on that?
