I have been trying to identify the total zone loads independent of the HVAC system so that I can compare EnergyPlus results to a different model. The other model does not take the HVAC system into account. It just incorporates the building envelope physics, internal loads, weather etc.
1) Is it possible to run a simulation in EnergyPlus that only uses building physics + temperature setpoints, i.e. what is the rate of heating or cooling that the HVAC system needs to provide?
2) Is there a variable in EnergyPlus that gives a value for #1?
Thank you.
