[EnergyPlus_Support] Re: Representing Hotel occupancy

I've had this designing MEP for a hotel. Huge loads for evening and morning shower regiemes from what I remember. Do you have WC exhaust system? I bet your typical room is 35 m2.

As to simulating it...my thoughts:
For the middle floor hotel rooms...
1) Assign, per compass dirrection, the number of rooms that are
- always booked every day of the year
- booked half of the year's days
- booked .75 of the year's days
- always empty
2) Create 4 occupancy and 4 System schedules for 1)
3) Create, per compass direction, 4 Zones and spread the zone multiplier evenly between them.
4) Don't neglect the extra zones for special cases such as zones for rooms on corners.
5) Repeat 1) to 4) for the top and ground floor seperately as usual.

This way you'll have 4 seperately multiplied rooms with overlapping occupation.

Of course the staff are mostly sleep in in the staff quarters. Hotel room occupation during the day is probably minimal, mainly morning, evening and sleeping is considered. Rooms are pre-conditioned before occupation as well.

You probably have a much better idea of hotels than I do, but a bit of sound boarding always helps me, so enjoy my rambling.

Regards,

Jean
