RE: [EnergyPlus_Support] using GenOpt with Energy Plus

Dear TIA,

Search this forum’s past messages and you’ll find an assortment of people using GenOpt for a variety of purposes.  I find that it works very well for existing buildings as long as you limit the variables that it tries to optimize.  i.e., measure as much as you can of the major energy users and let GenOpt find a “best fit” for variables such as infiltration, wall insulation (when no construction drawings are available) or seasonal boiler efficiency that are not so easily measured.

Subject: [EnergyPlus_Support] using GenOpt with Energy Plus

Hi all,

Has anyone used GenOpt in trying to reconcile actual measured energy consumption to the model consumptions produced by Energy Plus?

TIA
