Re:[EnergyPlus_Support] Translation of ASHRAE requirement of insulation Min. R-value

I use the Design builder to set the U value also. And the U value will change a little bit after imported in the E+. I don't think the R value is meaningful under certain U value. So I usually use the auto generated U value in the DB.

Dear Group,
How does one build a construction with the required U-value as well as the required insulation R-value? Does one have to satisfy both requirements? Actually R is the inverse of U, but the R requirement is just on the insulation. Previously, I've tried using Design Builder to get the closest match, but sometimes it's impossible.

For example: Walls, Above-Grade, Steel-framed as per ASHRAE 90.1-2007 TABLE 5.5-5 and Table G3.1 Number 5

Requirement
U-value Assembly Max = 0,365 W/m²K (0.064 Btu/hâ¢ft²â¢ °F)
R-value Insulation Min = 2.3 + 1.3 continuous insulation
