I think this is described in the Engineering Ref Manual for the sky dome.
The sun occupies that part of the dome, a circular area surronding the sun. The diameter of this view area is the view angle of 5.7°. The rest are either clear or covered by cloud at different degrees . When the sun is covered lightly by cloud, the beam intensity decreases, and the difuused component increases. Hi all,
In the documentation, it is written: "Direct Solar [W/m2] Direct solar is amount of solar radiation in W/m2 received within a 5.7° field of view centered on the sun. This is also known as Beam Solar." I don't quite understand what is the meaning of "within a 5.7° field of view centered on the sun". Anyone know? Thanks in advance. Regards, Malindo Mech.
