If you are using an external interface such as OpenStudio it is easy to copy the the zones.
I havent been setting the IDF without it but I think Dr.Li have explained it in this forum in other topic.You can look for it.
I think all identical surfaces(only placed in different floor level)can be entered with the same vertices poinst,only the origin for the zone object will change but I dont know,I havent experienced it.
