[EnergyPlus_Support] To openstudio users...

Hi Everybody,

I am an MSc student doing a project about energy analysis of an
existing chemistry building.
Since they are all free, I will be using sketchup and openstudio for modelling.
I have little information and experience with energyplus, sketchup and
open studio.
My apologies if this group is definitely a wrong place to ask but I
wanted to ask for some recommendations.
In terms of it's interface and available online tutorials, open studio
0.6.0 seems to be more convenient to learn and to use.
But it arises security concerns along with itself due to using a beta
version (I am tyring to persuade my university's IT department to
install both legacy and 0.6.x versions on college computers but this
was an excuse for them to be reluctant on installing 0.6.0).
My question to openstudio users is "would you use and learn everything
via legacy or ignore the concerns and stick to the 0.6.0"
