Re: [EnergyPlus_Support] Re: Changes to epw file

The weather converter automatically calculates several weeks from the weather file which then can be accessed through the SizingPeriod:WeatherFileConditionType object.

You can also, I believe search Design Week in the documentation though it might not trigger on this object.

Another object - SizingPeriod:WeatherFileDays - can be used to have the sizing period run on a specific set of days.

For your purposes, you could either use your regular weather file and have the weather converter calculate them, or you could hand craft a weather file and put in the Typical/Extreme header record the days you want or you could hand craft a weather file and put in several "Data Periods" which you then would select with a RunPeriod object.

Hope this helps clarify things though it may give you more options than you wanted.

A related question regarding the design weeks...  Is there a definition document describing these?

I'm developing some climate change weather files, and am not sure how to implement design summer and winter weeks.  Obviously these are the hottest and coldest recorded weeks of the year, but are they:
1) simply strings of 7 days starting from 1 Jan... e.g. 00hrs 1 Jan until 23 hrs 7th Jan, followed by 00 hrs 8th Jan until...; or
2) are they calendar weeks e.g. the strings of Monday through Sunday, which might not start on 1 Jan?

Many thanks in advance for any answers...
