It all depends on what you are copying.
Those new features in the later version definitely would not work in version 4.0.
If you are an experienced user, simply change the version number form 6.0 to 4.0 and see how many errors you will get by running the version 4.0 simulation.
The errors in the audit file and error file will tell you which are not compaible.
The problem is that some error may be at the beginning of the IDF, the simulation crash right away without giving you any results. If you pause the DSX screen, the temp. directory may give you some indicatin as well.
Why don't you achieve both the EPlus version 4.0 with the version IDF?
