Insert a "Version" object in the IDF that you are trying to transition.

 

For example, if the IDF you are starting with was created for EnergyPlus version 5.0, the insert the following object in the file:

 

    Version,5.0;

Hi,

I installed the IDF Version Updater (EnergyPlus Version 7.0) and I followed the MultipleVersionIDFConversionsReadme.txt instructions:

Unzip the files to your <main EnergyPlus folder V7.0>\PreProcess\IDFVersionUpdater They will ask to overwrite some files that are in that folder -- say yes to replace the existing files in that folder.)

But when I "choose file to update" it appears the following message:

"No VERSION object find in the file. Please add a VERSION object with the correct version number of the original version of the file and select the file again"

Does anyone knows how can activate the "current version" and "new version" to actually update the file?
