No. I do not think that a "mismatch" would make the solar shadowing calculation more accurate.
If a surface is pointing in a wrong direction relative to the sun beam, the calculated result would not be correct. Linda was saying that "For interzone surfaces, these may not matter somuch.", because no direct solar beam is expected. That was the reason I asked what are the users referring as "pairing" and "matching" in another mail. Inter zone partition is one type of pairing. The vector can be 180° out, because one of them is pointing the wrong way. The program may assume the correct direction and issue a warning. Window on the base wall is another type of pairing. Some windows are purposely set at an angle. The warning message usually provide the information to correct them. When you cut and past a SketchUp building block, the wall dimensions do not match exactly, the wall may not line up with the axis line. These are warned and it is difficult to tell whether there is any in- accuracy in result. They should be corrected as recommended by the error message. Interesting. If I'm understanding you correctly, that means that a
"mismatch" is likely to actually be more accurate, since the
sunlight calculation will be more accurate but the heat transfer
calculation won't suffer.
