[EnergyPlus_Support] Re: Extremely High Cooling Load due to Ventilation
(Correction to last post. Meant to say infiltration not ventilation, ventilation was already fine with mixed space types in a zone.)
In a few days OpenStudio 0.7.4 should be up on the developer section of the OpenStudio website. That version addresses the issue with infiltration rates when mixed space types are used in a thermal single zone..

(All with exterior walls and window subsurfaces.) How did that happen? I used the Outpatient Facility schedules without modification. Is this the result of some basic oversight on my part. It's just a test building with ASHRAE constructions.

From the 90% WWR simulation run, i received a ideal cooling loads of 77555 kWh/m2 of energy consumption which is too high! From my investigation, I believe that it is due to my zone ventilation or infiltration. As my zone infiltration is only 0.1ACH, i suspect it is the zone ventilation. Without the zone ventilation, the cooling load is only 394 kWh/m2. My input fields for ZoneVentilation:DesignFlowRate are described briefly: Schedule: 0800 - 2000 hrsDesign Flow Rate Calculation Method: Flow/AreaFlow Rate per Zone Floor Area: 2.3 m3/s-m2Ventilation Type: IntakeFan Pressure Rise: nilFan Total Efficiency: 1Constant Term Coefficient: 1 The rest of the fields are default values when I created the object. Can anyone explain to me where did I go wrong to obtain such a high cooling load? Thanks and Best Regards,Poh Khai
