Re: [EnergyPlus_Support] Card keeper exceptional calculation

Dear Oscar,
I have recently submitted a hotel project for LEED review. The Proposed
system uses a guest room management system which places guest rooms in the
unoccupied mode when the room is vacant or not rented.
The typical usage schedule for a hotel room is a fractional schedule, such
as shown in the ASHRAE User Manual, and this does not reflect well the
benefits of the guest room management system because the system
essentially turns equipment OFF instead of operating at partial load.
To approximate the guest room system, I created two schedule sets, one for
the Baseline using ASHRAE data and another for the Proposed system. The
Proposed system makes the same presumption as is used for lighting
occupancy sensors, which is that a 10% reduction will occur for automatic
ON / OFF compared to manual operation.
The Proposed schedules:
?	Use discrete occupied / unoccupied temperature setpoints
?	Change the People schedules to all ?1? (100%) and ?0? (0%). These
schedules were based on discussion with the Owner. Keep in mind that E+
assumes ?occupied? when people are present and ?unoccupied? when they are
not.
?	Maintain 90% of the total occupancy hours over a year?s time compare to
the Baseline.
The final result was to model an HVAC system as occupied for 90% of the
hours compared to the Baseline.
