[EnergyPlus_Support] Ventilating from zone A into zone B depending on temperature

For some reason your msg is not retrievable on the yahoo site.

For this scenario you need a work around. The simplest is to use a ZoneMixing object (io ref pg. 507). You can define a deltaT at which mixing should happen, as well as the flow rate. A fan connecting two zones should have very little energy usage (depends on Volume Flow and Pressure) as the pressure should be minimal.

If you later want to record "fan energy" you will have to implement an EMS program, but I would think this is unnessary as the energy will be very little for fan power.

----------------------------------

The second work around is possibly to define the exhaust zone with an additional AirLoopHVAC:ReturnPlenum object (io ref pg 1357), that is, the exhaust zone is treated as the return plenum in the AirLoop for the supply zone.

******
The remaining question for both these methodes is: where does the supply air come from? The flows in must balance the flows out.

Hi,

Is it possible to set the Fan on/off of a zone which depends on the temperature of another zone?

I would like to set up a fan in room A which draw air from room B only when room B has a higher room temperature. Do anyone know how to setup the setpoint manager to set up the above situation?

Many thanks.
