I am not sure whether the worst-case scheme which I use will be helpful in your case or not. But if the geometry which is to be created is not very extensive, then I take the dxf (in which ever state given by openstudio or other) and create the desired windows in AutoCad and then takes coordinates of the window vertices and directly insert those coordinate values in IDF (keeping in mind the GlobalGeometryRules). It works with a sure shot, just takes time. However, if the editing is not extensive and no other options works then its an easy way.

Some times i had similar problems with open studio, usually to solve it i don't use the project windows options instead i draw the windows in each individual zone.

hello guyz,

i have made a 5 zone building and I am trying to finish it by adding 4 windows
at the top zone. the problem is that open studio does not take a window as
a type of construction on that specific wall. it can make it a roof, door, wall
bu it refuses to make it an external window. do you know what could be
the problem? could it be a bug? what can i do? \
