RE: [EnergyPlus_Support] Error explanation needed

My comments below is related to the RPlus simulation part of the process.

The error message is on the reporting of the wall surface which is a post-processing function.  Because I do not know what is in the ASHRAE 90.1, therefore I did not comment on this.

You may have other warnings on the same surface in the .err file.

A roof inclined 20 degree from the horizon, it should reman as a roof.  A vertical roof section, gable must be declared as a wall, to avoid getting errors or warnings.

The vector angle is measured from the z-axis.  0° for a flat roof.  90° for a normal vertical wall.

How is the surface defined?  Detailed or retangular format?  The detailed method does not enter the angle directly, and the value of the angle is calculated by the program.

This is the reason why I usually only respond to questions with IDF or the object listing.  It is very difficult to guess what has been entered for simulation.

You can do the Output:Surfaces:List, Details to see what is considered a wall according to your classes.

Or it might be easier to just put "DetailedWWR_DEBUG;" in your input file and look at the .dbg file to see a brief set of reports that shows what is included for both.  No, this report is not documented at the present time.

Hello Everybody,

Where can I find more information on the following error:

** Warning ** WriteVeriSumTable: InputVerificationsAndResultsSummary:
Wall area based on [>=60,<=120] degrees (tilt) as walls
**   ~~~   ** differs ~17.6% from user entered Wall class surfaces.
Degree calculation based on ASHRAE 90.1 wall definitions.
    **   ~~~   ** Calculated based on degrees=[5167.071] m2, Calculated
from user entered Wall class surfaces=[4393.927] m2.
**   ~~~   ** Check classes of surfaces and tilts for discrepancies.

The building that I model has inclined roofs which I think are causing
this. But the incline of the roof surfaces is less than 20 degrees, so
they shouldn't be considered as walls judging by "Wall area based on
[>=60,<=120] degrees (tilt) as walls".

I searched the documentation but did not find anything on this topic.
Any help is appreciated!

Thank you!
Miroslav
