The Schedule:Compact object is extensible, there is no way it could be too long for EnergyPlus to recognize. If you mean it won?t open in IDF-Editor GUI, then you can manually extend the Energy+.idd object definition to have more than the 4500 fields it comes with.

Subject: [EnergyPlus_Support] Setting up compact schedules
I'm trying to set up a compact schedule.
Since the schedule is quite detailed, it turns out too long and eplus doesn't recognize it.
So, I'm trying to reference a Schedule:Week:Compact inside a Schedule:Compact - The explanation of Schedule:Compact says that this is possible but I can't figure out the syntax.
