Re: [EnergyPlus_Support] Advanced output variable report

Hi Amir,

I assume you are using notepad as the text editor. There should be no problem saving the file as .idf. You can simply type .idf after your file name when you are saving the file.

If you want the .idf to show up automatically, go to control panel > Folder Options > View, and make sure "Hide extensions for known file types" is unchecked. Then you should see *.idf in your Save/Save As window.

Mostapha

Hello,

A question about the ExerciseOutput1 example given in the Advanced output variable section of the Documentations. The example is asking to run the ExerciseOutput1, copy several lines from its RDD report, then copy those lines back in file using the text editor and save it as ExerciseOutput1A, and re-run the file. Question: After adding those RDD lines and changing the .text file, how can we save it as .idf file? Am I missing sth or it seems it can only be saved as another text file, not .idf file, which cannot be run the program.

Regards,
