Thanks for your valuable Advice.

Javed,

The only method I have attempted is the CO2 method.  The program has to determine outdoor air flow based on something it can measure / calculate.  CO2 is one of those and the only one in common use. In theory, outdoor air could be controlled based on occupancy schedules (I actually designed a system back in the 80s which did that), but that?s not common.

That?s all for now.

(But CO2 probably is not calculated by E+ unless you are sing a CO2-based control)

Thanks a lot Jim. I'm trying with the example files comes with Eplus installation. There are basically four type of DCV modeling methodology has been explained  1. Indoor Air Quality based 2. Proportional Control (CO2 based) 3. Simple based on Floor area and Occupancy 4. Ventilation Rate procedure. If I'm correct CO2 concentration might be applicable for Proportional Control (CO2 based) type of modeling procedure. I would further explore this in I/O file to get better idea on DCV modeling.  Any  suggestions?

Dear Javed,

1.       It seems that the ASHRAE 62.1 report should be unaffected by the use of demand control ventilation.  This is because 62.1 focusses on peak ventilation requirements, whereas DCV affects off-peak ventilation.

2.       If you do not have a variable for ?Zone Air Carbon Dioxide Concentration? in your .rdd, then I suspect you have not defined DCV fully.  I think the CO2 variable is triggered by the ZoneControl:ContaminantContoller object. I?ve shown the relevant objects below.

p.s., I do not understand the DCV process in E+ completely, and I am open to feedback!

Thanks for you reply. Buy i don't find any of the following variable in .rdd report. though carbon equivalent pollution from CO2 is there. Basically i want to see following report after simulating Demand control ventilation.

Try adding ?Output:Variable, ZoneName, Zone Air Carbon Dioxide Concentration, Timestep;? to your output variables.

Hi All,

I'm trying to model DCV and exploring file  HeatPumpVRP_DCV.idf  to see the output but when i run the simulation, the standard 62.1Summary doesn't have any output data. How to visualize this?

Thanks!
