Re: [EnergyPlus_Support] Zone mean Radiant Temperature

I took a quick look at your plots. I think there's something wrong with your simulation, maybe in your inputs, because a  ZMRT peaking at 44 C is not a habitable condition.  It's also strange that the ZOT is even higher (48.5 C), while the ambient temperature is only 33.7 C, because the ZOT should be between the Zone Air Temperature and the ZMRT.  You should plot out the Zone Air Temperatures to confirm. Then, you should experiment by progressively shutting off the elec eqp, other internal loads, and then the window solar gain, either by eliminating the windows or adding an opaque window shade over them.  At that point, the Zone Air Temperature should track the Ambient Air Temperature with a few hours' lag due to thermal mass.

Good day everyone,

I have a trouble with understanding of the graphs: Zone Mean Radiant Temperature (ZMRT) or Zone Operative Temperature(ZOT) in two zones.

I have 2 floor, 10 zones building. The output for some zone are great, for others quite weird.

In attached file you can see the graph of outdoor temperature, ZMRT and ZOT of kitchen- zone in the first floor. The graph looks like shark fin, temperature in the zone is super high - I guess its because of electrical equipment ( about 2kW).

The other zone is also on the first floor, but graph has two hills. The decrease of temperature is understandable, but increase of temperature is not clear for me. Maybe it is affect from the top floor.

Is anyone have any explanation why is it this way? Any suggestion how to fix it?

Thanks for comments in advance!

Best regards, Veronika Shabunko
