[EnergyPlus_Support] Adding zones in Open studio after the building is already made

Hi,
  I am currently working on a project in which we are suppose to run a load in Energy plus from the sketchup file provided by the Architect.The file provided by the architect does not have any zones on it and it is very nicely drawn file so I wanted to make sure if we could draw zones on an already drawn building before a request anything from his side.  However, I am new user to Energy plus and I noticed that while zoning, a zone block should be created first before a structure is drawn. Any kind of help is highly appreciated.
