[EnergyPlus_Support] RE: Any geeks out there? EnergyPlus CPU benchmarks

I hope that no one even thinks about reducing the number of variables which are available!  Judicial decisions about whether to calculate them is a different matter.

You are quite right, Dru! But there is a simple way to reduce IO cost, i.e. not to generate unnecessary reports/variables

You need to include hard drive speed. With all the IO that can make as much difference as the CPUs.

Hi,

We’ve been testing computers with a set of E+ models, and here are the results: <http://www.iesd.dmu.ac.uk/~jeplus/wiki/doku.php?id=docs:eplustest>http://www.iesd.dmu.ac.uk/~jeplus/wiki/doku.php?id=docs:eplustest

If you think your E+ simulation is a bit slow, get a new computer or upgrade the processor may help A LOT!

Cheers,

Yi
