Ah that is difficult to answer definitively, but I would not make that assumption. EMS is using Fortran intrinsics here and the implementation is actually in the CPU hardware. So different computer chips will behave differently. I agree with your reasoning but if you were getting sufficiently random sequences in V7.2, then it may be that integers 1,2,3,… will suffice in V8.0. If I can ask another question, would I be limiting the random number generator if I just used the integers 1,2,3,...,1000 as seeds? would this lead to somehow similar, or ordered sequences of random numbers?
