It is possible to get the output of the custom:meter as an external output for co-simulation at each time-step ?
It seems that the meter values are only stored in the .mtr or .eso file, after the simulation is complete.

You would be able to sum the energy components of those into a custom meter and the use output:meter to get the values into a csv file.  Look at the 5ZoneAirCooled example file.
