I don't see a report variable for Zone Air Heat Balance Surface Convection Energy.
Did you try comparing these report variables:
Surface Inside Face Convection Heat Gain Rate
Zone Air Heat Balance Surface Convection Rate

If I add up all the terms contributing to the Surface Inside Face Convection Heat Gain Energy, I should get Zone Air Heat Balance Surface Convection Energy. But, they don't match.
However, if I do include an ideal loads air system (purchased air), the above equation is satisfied, the sum of all the components due to surface to zone air convection adds up to the zone air heat balance surface convection.
I thought, that the uncontrolled zone case was a very simplified version of the case with the hvac system, and expected to see the energy balance clearly. But, that doesn't seem to happen.
Is there a reason why this doesn't match in the case of uncontrolled zone simulation? Or Am I doing something wrong?
Any help in understanding and deciphering what is going on here would be greatly appreciated!
