Re: [EnergyPlus_Support] New to EnergyPlus

There are several programs you can use to create your geometry. Sketchup is free and works well. If you use sketch up you'll need to also download the Open Studio Legacy Plug-in. The plug-in allows you to create thermal zones and constructions that will be imported into your energyplus file.

Simergy is also a free new software that will let you create a building geometry and also edit the HVAC system. I am less familiar with this program though.

Subject: [EnergyPlus_Support] New to EnergyPlus

Hi, How to I start modeling a building using EnergyPlus from the begining sketch?

Is it using the sketch-up to do the building geometry first?

Anyone know the structure, or steps for using the EnergyPlus
