HAMT is based on WUFI. As a WUFI user I can tell you that a wall will start with some initial, arbitrary moisture content assumption and then adapt to the
climate file weather conditions over time. A mass masonry wall can take 2-3 years or more in WUFI to reach repeatable moisture content through the assemble. We often run multi-year models but only look at the last year unless we are really concerned with
the initial conditions in the wall and have selected representative starting conditions. Light weight, vapor permeable assemblies react faster. I assume that EnergyPlus warm up has to do something similar for HAMT. Ned Lyon, P.E. (MA, WV) SIMPSON GUMPERTZ & HEGER
