Re: [EnergyPlus_Support] Floor area of spaces stacked into a single thermal zone

If the three spaces are identical I recommend to model one of them with a multiplier of 3 and you won't have the problems you mention.

Hi,

Let's imagine I have simplistic 3 storey building made of 3 identical spaces one above the other. I group them into a single thermal zone.

EnergyPlus reports that the floor area of the zone is the floor area of a single space. That's a problem for various reasons. For instance, if I add a Lights object with a power definition based on floor area, the resulting power won't be what I expect.

Is there a way to go around this problem without splitting the 3 spaces into 3 separate thermal zones?

Thanks,
Patrick
