Aside from the fact that ponding on a roof significantly reduces the service life of a roof, your problem is probably that EnergyPlus does not evaporate water
on the roof. To my knowledge, there are no evaporative cooling mechanisms implemented for building envelope components, with the possible exception of a vegetated roof model.

Hello every one, I'm new user of energyplus. i'm analyzing a roof pond. file number 1 is a zone without roof pond and file number 2 is a zone include roof pond. I want to calculate total heating energy and total cooling energy.
in second file I define a roof pond with night insulation, but total cooling energy didn't change as I expect. (it changed a little), can anyone explain me why?
