RE: [EnergyPlus_Support] A banal question.

Dear Luca,

In simplest form, you can:

1.       Use an .RVI file to make sure your variables are created in the same order for each simulation

2.       Create a spreadsheet with proper formatting that corresponds to the expected RVI sequence and numerical values

3.       Open the .CSV file in Excel, then copy “values only” into your formatted spreadsheet

A macro can make this somewhat more convenient by asking for the CSV file name and importing it directly.

Try to use macros in Excel in order to perform repetitive actions in your data files.

It is always good to connect csv file to excel spreadsheet via external connection. It will let you possibility do not apply formatting and etc. ech time after the simulation is done.

Thanks, I have just found. But we have to do those steps every times in Excel? Or does exist a mode for to do those steps always?
Good work.
Luca.

Have a look in Excel documentation how to transform text files into Excel files.

Hi to all, I’m Luca and I'm a new user.

I’m starting to work on Energy Plus, and I have a problem with the view of the spreadsheet.

In Excel I see the results in a text format, the values aren’t in separately cells.

Could someones indicate what is my error?

Excuse me for the banal question.

Thanks, good work to all.
